PROCESSO DE DESIGN DE FONTES VARIÁVEIS: AVALIAÇÃO DE UM FRAMEWORK
Maíra Woloszyn, Berenice Santos Gonçalves, Pedro Amado

The advance digital tools has boosted the field of typography. It has also made the type design process more complex, accessible and unified. Thus, adopting a methodology or flow drives projects of this nature more consistently. This paper aims to evaluate the consistency, clarity, and applicability of an iterative, flexible, non-linear and customizable framework for the variable fonts design process. To this end, the framework was the evaluated in a type design course with thirty-two students to support the development of variable full-text fonts, based on observation and a survey. As a result, it was possible to highlight that the framework helps in the conduction of the aforementioned process and to reinforce the relevance of an adaptable framework for different contexts and project types.
