Editorial
Dear reader,
As a step forward after publishing on Open Journal Source platform, Revista Brasileira de Expressão Gráfica (RBEG) is issuing its first special, fully international edition. And I am very honored to be invited by Gilson, the President of the Editorial Board of RBEG, to assist in this challenging task. In addition to being a milestone in promoting international exchanges to strengthen ties between the Brazilian and international communities, it is also an excellent initiative to expand the journal's coverage. It is certainly a great achievement that opens new prospects for the upcoming 10th edition of RBEG and deserves to be celebrated. Congratulations to all colleagues who worked hard to run the journal!
This special edition comprises six invited papers authored by experts in Graphics Expression, which is a fundamental subject with a wide range of related knowledge fields, approaches, and applications. Most of the authors are colleagues of the International Society for Geometry and Graphics (ISGG - https://isgg.net/isgg-conference-series/), which is a worldwide association dedicated to foster international collaboration and stimulate the scientific research and teaching methodology in the fields of Geometry and Graphics.
The diversity of Graphics Expression is very well reflected by the papers of this edition, which cover from the concepts and applications of bio-inspired design and a study on a new type of lampshade form by 3D projection of a 4D form including a tensegrity structure. Contributions on architectural graphic literacy in the light of the modern digital linguistic environment and the highlights of an investigative journey provide perspectives and reflections on Graphics Education. Finally, from different angles, the papers about a visual essay on several ‘Souths’ and 3D modeling in advanced fine machining process also reinforced the multidisciplinary aspect of the field.
On behalf of the RBEG editorial committee, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the contributing authors / co-authors, who accepted the challenge and prepared their interesting manuscript within a very tight production schedule.
We hope you enjoy the content of this edition, and that initiatives like this special edition are helping to eliminate barriers and broaden your horizons regarding the international exchange in Graphic Expression.
