PELA CRIAÇÃO DE UM SISTEMA DE IMAGENS-CHAVE

This study describes the foundations of a system that takes images as mediators for indexing and locating in illustrated book collections at the Instituto Interdisciplinar de Leitura da PUC-Rio. The main points developed here have emerged during a seminar held in 2019 concerning the subjects belonging to the referred collections. The areas of knowledge considered here were Semiotics, Design and Information Systems. Further on, we contemplate the fundamentals of Linguistics and Sequential Art, pointing out the potentialities of indexation and location them in the books under analysis. Finally, we present analyses of five books as a way to exemplify the concepts discussed. This exploratory way through ideas from different areas proved to be suitable for the understanding of the picture book and for the inventory of central elements to create a system of key images applicable to this object.
